​Biography:​ I became interested in the care of older adults through my clinical work as a medical assistant in dermatology and gastroenterology. I frequently cared for older adults with complex conditions who often faced barriers and challenges navigating fragmented healthcare systems. These experiences sparked my interest in how gaps in communication and responsibility between clinics, caregivers, and facilities can affect older patients' outcomes and how they experience care. I now volunteer as a medical escort, accompanying older adults to medical visits, and work in the Microtransitions in Care Lab on both the qualitative interview study and prospective cohort study. I love how my participation in the lab allows me to connect what I observed in clinical settings to research while also hearing directly from patients and caregivers about their experiences. I plan to continue working on these projects as I pursue an MD, and I hope to carry what I learn from the Microtransitions in Care Lab into my future career as a physician.
