Biography: I became interested in geriatrics after reading Being Mortal by Atul Gawande, where he tells the stories of multiple residents in long-term care right here in Boston and contextualizes the importance of geriatrics historically and sociologically. I started research in analytical biochemistry and antibiotic resistance labs at BU, before transitioning to the Microtransitions in Care Lab. I am currently a part of the Lab's systematic review and the prospective cohort studies. I love that the Microtransitions in Care Lab gives me the opportunity to both learn about individual patients and familiarize myself with broader topics in the geriatrics literature. I’m applying for medical school this summer and hope to continue research while pursuing an MD.
Fun Fact: I once spent a summer learning High Valyrian, a language from Game of Thrones!
