Who We Are

The Microtransitions in Care Lab is a collaborative health services research group dedicated to exploring how brief, everyday outings impact safety, care quality, and autonomy for older adults, and how to improve them.

New Microtransition Best Practice Recommendations

We recently published the first-ever best practice recommendations for microtransitions in care. These guidelines contain 51 recommendations for facilitating room changes, non-medical outings, and outpatient appointments.

The Microtransitions in Care Lab Recently Presented at the PALTC26 Conference in Anaheim, California!

Drs. Canter and Green recently joined Dr. Christian Bergman, a medical director and faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University, to give a lecture to nursing home clinicians on potential adverse events that can occur during microtransitions and how to prevent them.
